The Pig is a metaphor for corruption in capitalism. In the movie “Pig”, starring Nicholas Cage, released in 2021 and written by Michael Sarnoski, there are hidden crystal meth addicts and psychopaths operating in the kitchen's basement which is the foundation of the food business in Portland, Oregon.
It's pigs all the way up- From the gluttonous customers to the domestically violent truffle dealer and animal abusers who serve him.
Pig nappers steal a beloved pet out of a misguided fear of the tyrannical father who tries to prevent his son from ever being a threat to him a competitor.

Compare this movie to Rod Serling's 1956 movie “Patterns” which frightened Americans back then, but to modern audiences is difficult to relate to since we have been conditioned to believe that “Business is Business” and that the dollar is the bottom line. Morality and ethics have become obsolete.
Once upon a time it was a dishonor to lie and cheat. Today the victim gets blamed for being dumb and naive and the Pig is hailed as a hero.
The diner scene in Pig is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time.
