Beyond surrealism and Absurdism you get this: Robot Art
We can't all draw or paint or play a musical instrument, but everyone has an imagination and can use AI to create art or music these days.
Generating AI art may not make us creative, but editing and meditating on ideas may help us expand our consciousness to be more creative.
Are humans creative because we have imaginations or do we have imaginations because we are creative? The concept of evolution offers this philosophical paradox- How do we evolve?
Do we evolve through our imagination? What we believe we can achieve? What drives us to want to create and express ourselves?
I think a lot of the creative impulse has to do with territorial instincts.
Brainbow Podcast:
People write poetry, make music, tell stories, and paint pictures so that they may own their experiences and interpret them as they will so that others can share their unique perspective.
Painting is a craft that has deep significance on the artist more so than it does on the viewer who looks at the picture like a bystander watching a crime outside the comforts of his home window or glances at a private moment that he was invited to only look at.
Artists are moved more, if not shaken to take in their experiences which undoubtedly moves them enough to want to create and the AI creates a gap that the artist must leap over like a lonely abyss. Oftentimes we stop short saying “what's the point”? AI can do it better.
Creative Gap- Creating new meaning out of something that has already been done.
Since the act of painting creates a sacred space (a territory) for the artist to meditate and transcend their own consciousness, they can now own the moment and realization that they captured or were seized by.
Now that we can capture in a second what would have taken hours or days to paint by hand in the past occurs as quickly as the moment fades away. How do we keep the craft going once?
AI is superior to humans in so many ways, but one thing they can't replicate is what makes us human which is our creativity and emotional intelligence that is born from the heart.
Energy is created by the heart! Stars can also create their own energy, but other than that, energy can't be created or destroyed. This is the Law of Conservation of Energy.
Editing tools allow us to create anything from our imagination in a second as well, so once the need to create is fulfilled instantaneously the meditative part becomes null and void. How do we fill this creative gap? I think that the act of editing is also a meditative practice.
The creative gap is actually where it's all at! This is where we transcend our human nature and limitations of the world. It's the space where we can evolve and heal since healing is a big part of our evolution. Our brains and hearts can build like our muscles. Tear and repair…
Remove our suffering and remove the force that can propel us to become better than that which we were before we had to endure suffering all by ourselves.
When we were all alone and hated or misunderstood, yet we survived, overcame our is obstacles or ourselves and grew stronger by those territorial survival instincts and will to adapt and transform ourselves.
“The most moving experiences are the ones when you realize that you are not alone.”- Robert Ardrey
By meditating on moments that make us feel connected we can replace the moving sensation of the hand painting process.
When we capture portraits or create AI images that express our abstract style of thinking, we all can be painters, but in a new way with the help of AI. If you can't paint but always wanted to, now your painting or drawing disability no longer holds you back.
Transcendental AI Art sounds a lot better than Robot Art.
Fill in the creative gap that robots have created by adding a poem, telling a story, or writing a Haiku to accompany your picture.
I especially like incorporating Haikus into photography since it's a meditative practice that you can do in your head without the need to write it on paper since they are short and easy to memorize.
Jedi Poetry is Haiku Photography. Cut out words and thoughts until you get to the heart of the moment.
Come check out Jedi Poetry and try it yourself! Capture a moment that seized you and write a Haiku about it.
